Someone should sit MPs down and make them play SimCity to see how getting your infrastructure right is vital. Unfortunately, the basic tracks in the UK are in a dreadful state and its a nightly struggle to patch them up. Will cost a fortune to replace. – Jez Nicholson
The investment programme (particularly in electrification) is definitely to be supported – however I don’t believe that fares should rise by 1% above inflation each year. We should be reducing fares instead to make public transport more attractive than air travel or private vehicle use. – Frankie Roberto
